H.E. Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al-Habsi has been the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning since 2012. Prior to that, he held several government positions, most recently Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance from 2007. Prior to that, he was Secretary General of Taxation, Ministry of Finance (1988-2004) and the CEO of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (2004-2007).
In addition to his duties, H.E. Sultan Al-Habsi currently holds several positions and other memberships in a number of boards of directors of public bodies, as follows:
1- Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Statistics and Information
2- Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors of the Economic Zone Authority in Duqm
3- Deputy Chair of the Tender Board
4- Member of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman
5- Member of the Education Council
6- Member of the Scientific Research Council
He is also a member in the boards of directors of companies in which the government owns shares as follows:
1- Chair of the Board of Directors of Sohar Industrial Port Company
2- Chair of the Board of Directors of Oman Oil Company for Refineries and Petrochemicals
3- Chair of the Board of Directors of the Free Zone in Sohar
H.E. Sultan Al-Habsi holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Ain Shams University, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Cairo, 1988.
