The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, carried out a public opinion survey entitled: "Beneficiaries' Satisfaction Survey on Social Housing Program Services in the Sultanate of Oman,"
This survey which conducted during the period from 20th to 24th July 2025 came as part of the national efforts aimed at improving the quality of housing services and enhancing the efficiency of housing support programs in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The survey is also part of NCSI's broader efforts to support government entities with accurate and reliable data essential for informed decision-making. By conducting such surveys, NCSI enables policymakers to better understand the current state of services, gauge citizens' aspirations, and enhance the quality of evidence-based government decisions.
Mahfoodh bin Salim Al-Musharafi, Director of the Public Opinion Measurement Department at NCSI, emphasized that the objective of the survey is to assess the current state of social housing programs and to gauge citizens' satisfaction with the quality of construction, architectural designs, and contractors.
He added that the survey also aims to evaluate the efficiency of facilities and public services provided within social housing projects, identify the challenges citizens face during the application process and after receiving the services, and explore their future aspirations regarding location, space, access to essential services, and the suitability of eligibility and distribution criteria in meeting their actual needs.
Al-Musharafi further clarified that the survey targeted three groups of citizens across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman : beneficiaries of the Housing Assistance Program, the eligible for the program, and the beneficiaries of the Residential Units Program. Custom-designed questionnaires were used for each of these target groups.
He also stressed that all collected data is treated with the utmost confidentiality, in accordance with Royal Decree No. (55/2019), particularly Article 11, which guarantees the confidentiality of individual data and prohibits its use for any purpose other than statistical analysis, ensuring that all information is presented in aggregate form without disclosing any personal details.
