Vehicle registrations in Oman rise by 5.5% in H1 2025
The number of registered vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman rose by 5.5% year-on-year to reach 1,798,062 by the end of June 2025, according to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).Private vehicles made up the largest share of the total, accounting for 79.3% or 1,425,308 vehicles. Commercial vehicles followed with 264,913 registrations (14.7%), while rental vehicles represented 2.3%, or 41,386 vehicles.The remaining registrations were distributed among taxis, government vehicles, and others. White remained the most popular vehicle color, representing 42.3% of the total or 761,358 vehicles. Silver was the second most common with 12.9% (231,822 vehicles), followed by grey with 181,140 registrations.In terms of engine size, vehicles with capacities ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 cm³ were the most common, accounting for 54.5% of the total or 979,300 vehicles.
