Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information revealed an increase in the revenues of hotels classified (3 – 5) stars in the Sultanate of Oman by 12.7% by the end of February 2025, reaching 59,043 million Omani Rials compared to 52,405 million Omani Rials at the end of February 2024.
This increase is attributed to the 3.6% rise in the total number of hotel guests, which reached approximately 458,433 guests by the end of February 2025, compared to 442,468 guests at the end of February 2024.
As for the occupancy rate, it also witnessed an increase, rising from 60.8% at the end of February 2024 to 67.9% at the end of the same month in 2025, recording a growth of 11.7 percentage points.
According to the NCSI report, among nationalities, Europeans topped the number of guests in hotels, with their numbers reaching 173,455 (up to 8.7%). As many as 137,465 were Omani guests (a drop of 3.1%), and 60,375 were Asian guests' citizens (up by 8.1%).
The number of guests from GCC countries reached 27,505 (up by 6.5%), the number of guests from other Arab nationalities reaching 16,464 guests (a drop of 12.2%).
The Americas recorded an increase in the number of guests by 9.2%, reaching 16,130 guests, while the number of guests from Oceanian countries rose by 53.4% to 9,735 guests. The number of African guests rose by 55% to reach 3,244.
