The total added value of active private institutions in the Sultanate of Oman for the fourth quarter of 2023 amounted to about RO 8,850.6 billion, according to preliminary data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
The contribution of the actual operating enterprises to the GDP at current prices for the fourth quarter of 2023 was about 81.2%, compared to 84% for the fourth quarter of 2022.
The added value of large enterprises amounted to RO 6,579.4 billion, representing a rate of 60.4%, a decrease of 6.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, while the added value of medium enterprises amounted to RO 681.9 million, or a rate of 6.3%, which was a decrease of 3.2%.
Meanwhile, the added value of small enterprises amounted to RO 718.6 million, representing a rate of 6.6%, which is a decrease of 2% percent. The total value added of micro enterprises amounted to RO 870.7 million, representing a rate of 8%, an increase of 0.7%.
It is worth noting that the number of workers in actual operating enterprises in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 6.4%, recording 1,823,660 workers during the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to 1,713,407 workers during the fourth quarter of 2022, while the number of enterprises reached 240,765 enterprises for the fourth quarter of 2023, with an increase of 8.7% compared to the same period in 2022.
