Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the Sultanate of Oman's total production of electricity till the end of January 2024 increased by 14.1%, reaching 2,609.3 GW\H, compared to 2,287.2 GW\H in the same period of 2023.
The statistics showed that the governorates of Al Batinah North and South and Adh Dhahirah recorded an increase in total electricity production by 15% till the end of January 2024, reaching 1,660.1 GW\H, and the governorates of Ash Sharqiyah North and South recorded an increase of 30.5%, reaching 627.9 GW\H till the end of January 2024.
The electricity production remained stable in the Governorate of Ad Dakhiliyah, while there was a drop in electricity production in the Governorate of Muscat by 114.3%, reaching 1.7 GW\H; and by 2% in the Governorate of Dhofar, reaching 297.2 GW\H. Meanwhile, the total electricity production in the Governorate of Al Wusta decreased by 93.5%, reaching 1.4 GW\H.
The statistics also showed that the Sultanate of Oman's net electricity production until the end of January 2024 increased by 17.7% to reach 2,608.2 GW\H. The net production in the Governorate of Al Batinah North and South and Adh Dhahirah increased by 18.7%, reaching 1,660.1 GW\H, and those of Ad Dakhiliya remained stable.
In the governorates of Ash Sharqiyah North and South, the electricity production increased by 34%, reaching 627.5 GW\H, and those in the Governorate of Muscat fell by 114.3%, reaching 1.7 GW\H, and in the Governorate of Dhofar, it increased by 2.4%, reaching 296.7 GW\H till the end of January 2024.
The statistics showed that the net electricity production in the Governorate of Al Wusta decreased by 94.3%, recording 1.2 GW\H.
In terms of water production, the statistics showed that the total quantity of water produced in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 1.8%, reaching 42,185.7 thousand cubic meters by the end of January 2024, compared to 41,421.6 thousand cubic meters in January 2023.
