The Sultanate of Oman's total imports of vehicle spare parts by the end of 2023 reached RO 114,228.842 million, recording a decrease of 29.1%, compared to the year 2022, in which it was RO 161,106.945 million, according to statistical data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
The data showed that the total weight of vehicle spare parts imported by the Sultanate of Oman in 2023 reached 27,277.859 million kilograms, compared to 35,412.989 kilograms in 2022.
The United Arab Emirates topped the countries exporting vehicle spare parts to the Sultanate of Oman in 2023, with a value of RO 46,087.362 million, followed by Japan, with a value of RO 41,059.972 million, followed by Thailand with a value of RO 6,703.240 million, and China, with RO 4,577.181 million.
The value of the Sultanate of Oman's imports of vehicle spare parts from the United States by the end of 2023 reached RO 3,960.225 million, RO 2,881.560 million from Germany, RO 1,165.388 million from the State of Qatar, RO 1,104.296 million from South Korea, RO 779.721 thousand, from Italy, and RO 627.589 thousand from Taiwan.
Meanwhile, the statistics showed that the total value of the Sultanate of Oman's exports of vehicle spare parts in the year 2023 recorded RO 92,102.47 million, declining by 15.3%, compared to the value of exports in 2022, which was recorded at RO 108,745.551 million.
The total weight of vehicle spare parts exported during the year 2023, reached 40,978.39 million kilograms, compared to 36,708.741 million kilograms in 2022.
The United Arab Emirates came at the forefront of countries importing vehicle spare parts from the Sultanate of Oman in 2023, with a value of RO 39,124.647 million, followed by the United States with a value of RO 8,226.528 million, the Czech Republic with RO 7,067.772 million, and Singapore with RO 6, 414.358 million.
The value of the Sultanate of Oman's exports of vehicle spare parts by the end of 2023 reached RO 4,315. 490 million to Australia, RO 3,972.117 million to Hong Kong, RO 3,916.380 million to the United Kingdom and RO 3,061.651 million to China. The value of the Sultanate of Oman's exports of vehicle spare parts reached RO 2,477.899 million to Mexico, and RO 2,092.607 million to Slovenia.
It is worth noting that the total number of companies and establishments operating in the activity of selling spare of motor vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman in the year 2022 reached 3,202 thousand entities. About 259 entities out of them were in the retail activity of used spare parts, 1,900 thousand entities in the activity of selling new spare parts of vehicles, 841 in the sale of used spare parts of vehicles and 202 entities in supplying and selling spare parts for heavy engine equipment.
