The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) received the ISO 27001:2022 ISO/IEC certificate in information security management system awarded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The award was received by NCSI for its implementation of its highest level of excellence in information protection and security.
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Barwani, CEO of NCSI, clarified that the award is a result of NCSI's relentless efforts in providing secure statistical information for all tasks and work assigned to it and for the update of its electronic services.
He added that it is also a result of the commitment of the Centre's electronic portals and digital platforms toward implementing the highest international security standards, and its reliance on security controls standards to protect information against electronic threats.
His Excellency pointed out that NCSI was granted the ISO 27001 certificate after it successfully passed all rounds of evaluation and audit to verify compliance with the requirements of this standard, which reflects the extent of the integration of the information security and data protection program at the Centre.
He emphasized that this achievement is part of the information security program that the Centre is pursuing to adopt the best practices and procedures in it. It is also an appreciation for NCSI's role in implementing a comprehensive program to ensure the adopting of all information security controls, as well as its contribution to strengthening the security controls and the protection of enormous data and information that NCSI possesses.
His Excellency also stressed that this certificate will pave the way for the Centre to further achieve the highest levels of security and protection of its electronic systems with high efficiency. It will also contribute to containing the repercussions resulting from human errors, ensuring a safe and reliable information environment for all relevant parties
It is worth noting that the ISO 27001:2022 ISO/IEC certificate in information security management system is being granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is the UKAS Accredited Certification Body, an international organization in the United Kingdom, that specializes in the field of developing administrative systems, training, performance evaluation, strengthening the quality of services, and calculating applicable quality measurements globally.
