The revenue of (3-5) star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of August 2022 recorded a surge by 106.9% to stand at RO 108.334 million compared to the same period in 2021, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The number of guests in the (3-5) star hotels increased by 34.2% till the end of August 2022. Occupancy rate in those hotels went up by 22.4% by the end of August 2022 to stand at 42.5% compared to 34.7% during the same period in 2021.
The number of GCC guests recorded a significant growth rate of 1250.9% to go from 7,874 guests by the end of August 2021 to reach 106,371 guests by the end of August 2022, followed by European guests, who recorded a rise by 615.9% from 26,400 guests by the end of August 2021 to reach 189,008 guests by the end of August 2022. However, the number of Omani guests declined by 14.9% from 556,035 by the end of August 2021 to 473,232 by the end of August 2022.
The number of American guests till the end of August 2022 stood at 35,803, comprising an increase by 201.5% compared to the same period in 2021, while the number of guests from the African continent stood at 5198, constituting a surge by 101.9% compared to the same period in 2021.
Moreover, the number of Asian guests went up by 40.2% from 91,273 till the end of August 2021 to reach 127,995 guests during the same period in 2022.
