The Sultanate's M-95 fuel production went up by 11.8 percent by the end of July 2022, compared to the same period last year, and its sales registered an increase of 0.7 percent, according to the statistics released by the National Center for Statistics & Information (NCSI).
NCSI statistics indicate a registered increase in M-91 fuel production and its sales by 1.7 percent and 54.9 percent, respectively, during this period. On the contrary, aviation fuel production and its sales rose by 16.9 percent and 112.7 percent, respectively, by the end of July 2022.
Petrochemical production (Benzene and paraxylene) suffered a significant decline of 79.1 percent for Benzene and 94.8 percent for paraxylene.
In contrast, the Sultanate's polypropylene production went up by 19.7 percent, but sales during the same period fell by 39.3 percent, dropping from 21.1 million metric tons to 12.8 million metric tons. The Sultanate's Liquefied Petroleum Gas refineries dropped by 17.8 percent, sales grew by 9.7 percent by the end of July compared to the same period in 2021, while exports registered a significant decline of 90.4 percent, reaching 37 thousand barrels by the end of July, compared to 386.5 thousand barrels by the end of July 2021.
The production of gas oil (diesel) fell by of 14.1 percent by the end of July 2022, as compared to the previous year, while domestic sales rose by 9.0 percent, and exports dropped significantly by 29.0 percent over the same period.
