The total number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) until the end of March 2021 was 51,663, which is an increase by 17.2% compared to the same period of 2020, according to the data released by the National Centre for Statistics and information (NCSI).
Among the governorates, Muscat topped the list with 17,376 MSMEs registered until March 2021, followed by Al-Batinah North with 8,162, Ad Dakhliyah with 6,465, and Dhofar with 4,316, Al Batinah South with 3,915, and Ash-Sharqiah North with 3,442 MSMEs registered.
Ash-Sharqiah South with 3,073 MSMEs, Adh-Dhahirah with 2,947 MSMEs, followed this and Al Buraymi with 1,106 MSMEs registered.
Al Wusta had 672 MSMEs registered and Musandam had 189 MSMEs registered, which was the lowest among governorates registered until March 2021.
