Represented by the NCSI, the Sultanate of Oman, hosts the Gulf Data Marathon (Datathon) during the period of 28th October to 3rd November2019, at the Musk Al Mouj Hotel. It will be held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Barwani, Chief Executive Officer of NCSI, with presence of a number of GCC experts who are specialized in the statistical field.

Datathon aims to raise the skills of participants in data analysis via utilizing the latest technology, where the participants will attend an advance course on the techniques of data analysis and data science, which will be organized by GBM Company, followed by a competition program for the participants to create IT solution in the statistical sector.

Datathon is considered, the first event of the second Gulf Statistics Forum, which will be organized by the Sultanate of Oman in December 2019 under the slogan (smart data).
