​As part of an effort to create awareness about the services provided by the Centre for to both government and private organisations, the centre's chief executive officer His Excellency Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Barwani has delivered an introductory lecture for the members of the Sultan's Armed Forces at the Military College on May 9, 2018.

 Addressing the officials of Sultan's Armed Forces, he also gave a power point presentation on several subjects, which included importance of opinion surveys carried out by the NCSI to study social and economic trends, how these survey results help decision makers in preparing plans for achieving better economic and social development. The presentation also covered NCSI's efforts to diversification and innovation of means to disseminate vast amount of data and information available with the centre to meet the requirements of government agencies, individuals and international organisations that seek statistics on Oman. The selection of Sultanate to head the big Data Working Group of the United Nations Statistics Division in the field of mobile phone data since 2016 is an indication of Oman's standing in the international statistical field, he added.

The presentation also sidelight of the general e-Census on Population, Housing and Enterprises 2020, associated projects and their importance in planning and the speed in providing services to citizens of the country and its residents. His Excellency Al Barwani also responded to questions raised by the audience.
