The Technical Executive Committee for Electronic Census of Population, Housing and Establishments 2020 held its second meeting on Monday, 9 April 2018. H.E. Dr Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Barwani, the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre , chaired the meeting. The committee met to review and discuss a wide array of topics.
During the meeting, Eng. Omar Al Ismaili, Director General of E-Census, highlighted several aspects including the project's current position, data-matching progress, mechanism of the electronic link with relevant census databases, procedures taken for updating data and their comprehensiveness. Furthermore, the committee reviewed the meeting agenda and implementations of decisions agreed upon during the first meeting. They examined the current status of the approved project databases as well.
The Consulting Office of the E-Census Project 2020 researched the market and upshots of their study were appraised during the meeting. It included reviewing the statistical variables and indicators, importance of data quality as per approved standards, framework of data, challenges and risks as well as auditing mechanism, evaluation and analysis. The committee then reviewed the media campaign and tenders for the next phase.
The Technical Executive Committee for General E-Census of Population, Housing and Establishments for the year 2020 comprises of Directors from government organisations and representatives of a number of entities. It carries out numerous tasks including communicating with the concerned parties to facilitate project tasks. It follows up on reports and submits them to the concerned authorities, who then prepare and publish the statistical findings.
