The Centre received 13-year-old Marwan bin Mohammed Al-Washahi in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Wednesday, November 15, in the framework of celebrating the World Chidren's Day on November 20 each year.
During the day that the child spent in the office of HE Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Barwani, Chief Executive of the NCSI, he learned about the functions of the Centre. He attended the meetings that were scheduled on the CEO's agenda. He also toured the various departments of the Centre along with the CEO, during which he learned about the organisational divisions and the various tasks of the CEO. Marwan Al-Washahi said that he was not aware of the important duties entrusted to the Centre and that he was happy with this interesting experience which allowed him to identify some administrative and statistical tasks in enhancing knowledge.
International Children's Day, which is celebrated by the UNICEF on November 20 in cooperation with a number of authorities in the Sultanate, coincides with the day on which the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted in 1989. The day's events include the presentation of some children's experiences and contacts with senior officials in various areas including media, politics, trade, sports, health and entertainment; to guide future generations to become future leaders.
