The results of the poll :

The results of the poll, which was implemented in January 2016 that only 14% of Omanis living in rented houses in addition to a small percentage live in houses that obtained from housing assistance (such as social housing system) or other type of acquisition (such as housing followed by the employer or gift or donation or endowment, etc..).

The ratio of Omanis who seek for housing :

The ratio of Omanis who seek for housing aid and own their hoses is low between them and the total Omanis (78% vs. 83%), while the percentage rises to those living in rented houses to a record 16% versus 14%. The results of the poll showed that 55% of Omanis living in a villa, while 31% of them live in an Arabian house and 9% in a flat and 5% in the dwelling villagers.

As for the area of the current housing has lived in two-thirds of the Omani almost (65%) in the housing area of more than 210 square meters, while 19% of them live in housing area not exceeding 150 square meters . 71% of Omanis prefer to live in a villa ​ :

The results of the poll showed that 71% of Omanis prefer to live in a villa versus 26% in the Arabian house, while a small percentage prefer to live in dwelling villagers  or apartments in the rate of 2% and 1% respectively. The presence of the courtyard (garden) and satisfaction to live in large houses is the first reason for the preference of the villa and the Arabian house, followed by the need for privacy. Whereas  quarter of  Omanis would prefer villa and the Arabian house to maintain the social status of the family as they believe that housing in apartments reduces the social status of the family. As well as the preferred 72% of Omanis live in houses larger than 210 square meters, while preferably 13% of them housing area not exceeding 150 square meters and 15% prefer spaces ranging from 151 meters and 210 square meters.

The applicants assistance and housing loans tracts prefer a little less of the total Omani preferences, where 18% of them prefer to live in an area of 150 square meters or less (compared to 13% of the total Omani) as the percentage of the area prefer houses larger than 210 square meters to 65% (compared to 72% of the total Omani). And preferably 58% of Omanis living in a dwelling consists of three or four rooms, while preferably 30% of them five or six rooms and 9% prefer to 7 rooms or more in return only to live in a room or two rooms preferably 3% . 

48% of Omanis live in a house with fewer rooms​ :

48% of Omanis live in a house with fewer rooms than they would prefer, while 31% of them live in a residence by a number of rooms are larger than their needs and  21% live in the Omani housing who already own preferences in terms of number of rooms. As for the favorite specifications in the dwelling were the results of the survey showed that the most important specifications that favored the Omanis are dwelling connect to public water networks and it was this criterion important or very important to the 97% of the Omanis .Also, 95% see that the presence of the courtyard is an important thing .Most of them believe in large proportion of the importance of space and spacious rooms plus providing internet , phone and sanitation services and central air conditioning. However the availability of a balcony overlooking the outside comes at the end of their priorities.

 As for the access to housing aid and loans lost three out of every 10 offers almost (29%) applied to the Ministry of Housing for a housing loan or housing assistance (irrespective of whether they already meet the requirements). Regarding satisfaction with the procedures used to obtain housing loan or housing assistance to the poll results showed that six out of 10 applicants for housing loans from the Ministry of Housing to one degree or another, all procedures are satisfied and that nearly two-thirds of applicants (64%) are satisfied with the degree or another for residential loan amount. And 7 out of 10 applicants for housing assistance were satisfied more or less for procedures and about the same proportion satisfied with the amount of housing assistance.
