Governmental social welfare is one of most important social works programs of the government, which aims to promote the welfare by taking the required measures and procedures to ensure access to adequate resources of food, shelter, health and support numerous groups such as children, the elderly, the sick and unemployed.

The Government of the Sultanate of Oman consistently with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which provides for the right of everyone to benefit from all the advantages that provided in the country, has conducted many social protection and social welfare programs, and seeks to develop them continuously in line with the evolution of life requirements.
