أظهرت بيانات صادرة عن المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات في سلطنة عمان ارتفاع عدد المتاحف الحكومية والخاصة المسجلة إلى 34 متحفاً مع نهاية عام 2025م، بزيادة ثلاثة متاحف عن العام السابق 2024م. الذي بلغ عددها آنذاك 31 متحفاً. وبلغ إجمالي زوار المتاحف خلال ذات العام 538 ألف زائر، مسجلاً تراجعاً نسبته 28.6 بالمئة مقارنة بعام 2024م الذي استقطب 753 ألف زائر. وتوزع الزوار بواقع 445 ألفاً و997 زائراً للمتاحف الحكومية، و92 ألفاً و732 زائراً للمتاحف الخاصة. أما على المستوى الشهري، فقد شكل شهر فبراير 2025م ذروة الإقبال على المتاحف، بحضور 73 ألفاً و152 زائراً، في حين كان شهر مارس الأقل من حيث عدد الزائرين، إذ لم يتجاوز عددهم 19 ألفاً و470 زائراً.

The number of government and private museums in the Sultanate of Oman grew by 3 to 34 by the end of 2025, compared to 31 by the end of 2024. Data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) shows that the total number of visitors to museums in 2025 stood at 538,729, a decline of 28.6 percent against the 2024 figure of 753,000 visitors. As many as 445,997 visitors turned out at government museums in 2025, compared to 92,732 who visited private museums last year. On a monthly basis, February 2025 saw the highest turnout of visitors at museums (a total of 73,152), while only 19,470 visitors turned out at museums in March 2025.

ينفذ المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات خلال الفترة من 17 إلى 28 مايو الجاري استطلاعًا للرأي العام حول استخدام أفراد المجتمع لتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي في الحياة اليومية، وذلك ضمن جهوده في رصد التحولات الرقمية وقياس الاتجاهات المجتمعية المرتبطة بالتقنيات الحديثة. ويستهدف الاستطلاع العُمانيين من عمر 18 سنة فأكثر، بهدف التعرف على واقع استخدام تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي، ومستوى الاستفادة منها، والمخاطر المرتبطة بها، ومستوى الثقة في مخرجاتها. وقال الفاضل محفوظ بن سالم المشرفي مدير دائرة قياس الرأي العام بالمركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات إن الاستطلاع يهدف إلى قياس مدى انتشار استخدام تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي بين أفراد المجتمع، وأنماط الاستخدام المختلفة من حيث المجالات والتكرار والدوافع، إضافة إلى رصد مستوى المنفعة المتحققة وتأثير هذه التقنيات على الأداء وتقليل الأخطاء أو زيادتها. وأضاف أن الدراسة تتناول كذلك قياس المخاطر المدركة المرتبطة باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي، خصوصًا عند استخدامه في الموضوعات ذات الأهمية الخاصة، ومدى إدخال البيانات الشخصية في هذه الأدوات، إلى جانب قياس مستوى الثقة والموثوقية في المخرجات، وسلوك الأفراد في التحقق من المعلومات والإجابات التي توفرها تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي. وأشار إلى أن نتائج الاستطلاع ستسهم في تحديد أولويات التنظيم والتدخل، وتطوير البرامج التوعوية والتدريبية المناسبة، والتعرف على المهارات الأكثر أهمية التي يحتاجها المجتمع للاستفادة الآمنة والفعالة من تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي. ودعا الفاضل محفوظ بن سالم المشرفي العُمانيين الواقعين ضمن عينة الاستطلاع إلى التعاون مع فريق مركز الاتصال بالمركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات عند تلقي الاتصال من الرقم (24070515)، خلال فترة تنفيذ الاستطلاع من الساعة الثامنة والنصف صباحًا وحتى الثانية والنصف ظهرًا، مؤكدًا أن آراءهم ستسهم في دعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى تعزيز الاستخدام المسؤول للتقنيات الحديثة وبناء سياسات تستجيب للتحولات الرقمية المتسارعة.

The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) began today conducting a public opinion poll on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies by community members in their daily lives. This initiative comes within the Centre's efforts to monitor digital transformations and measure societal trends related to modern technologies. The poll, which will run until 28 May, targets Omanis aged 18 and above to identify the reality of using AI technologies, the level of benefit derived from them, the associated risks, and the level of trust in their outputs. Mahfoudh Salim Al Musharafi, Director of the Public Opinion Measurement Department at the NCSI, stated that the poll aims to measure the prevalence of AI technologies' use among community members, as well as the different usage patterns in terms of fields, frequency, and motives. Additionally, it seeks to monitor the achieved level of benefit and the impact of these technologies on performance, including whether they reduce or increase errors. Al Musharafi added that the study focuses on measuring the perceived risks associated with the use of AI, particularly when utilized in topics of special importance, and the extent to which personal data is entered into these tools. This is alongside measuring the level of trust and reliability in the outputs, and the behavior of individuals in verifying the information and answers provided by AI applications. He indicated that the results of the poll will contribute to determining the priorities for regulation and intervention, developing appropriate awareness and training programs, and identifying the most critical skills the community needs for the safe and effective utilization of AI technologies.

سجل المؤشر العام لأسعار المستهلكين في سلطنة عُمان ارتفاعًا بنسبة 3.2 بالمئة في شهر أبريل 2026م مقارنةً بالشهر المماثل من عام 2025م لسنة الأساس 2018، بحسب البيانات الصادرة عن المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات، كما سجل متوسط التضخم خلال الفترة (يناير إلى شهر أبريل 2026م) ارتفاعاً بنسبة 2.6 بالمئة.وأظهرت البيانات تصدّر مجموعة السلع الشخصية المتنوعة والخدمات قائمة أكثر المجموعات ارتفاعاً، مسجلة ارتفاعاً في الأسعار بنسبة 9.2 بالمئة، تلتها مجموعة المواد الغذائية والمشروبات غير الكحولية بارتفاع نسبته 6.2 بالمئة، ثم مجموعة النقل بنسبة 6 بالمئة، وجاءت مجموعة المطاعم والفنادق في المرتبة الرابعة بارتفاع نسبته 4.5 بالمئة، تلتها مجموعة الأثاث والتجهيزات والمعدات المنزلية وأعمال الصيانة بـنسبة 3 بالمئة، ومجموعة التعليم بنسبة 2.2 بالمئة.كما ارتفعت أسعار مجموعة الصحة بـنسبة 1.8 بالمئة، ومجموعة الثقافة والترفيه بنسبة 0.2 بالمئة، فيما استقرت أسعار كل من مجموعة السكن والمياه والكهرباء والغاز وأنواع الوقود الأخرى، ومجموعة الملابس والأحذية، ومجموعة الاتصالات، ومجموعة التبغ دون أي تغيير يُذكر.وعلى صعيد مجموعة المواد الغذائية والمشروبات غير الكحولية خلال شهر أبريل 2026م مقارنةً بالشهر المماثل من العام 2025م، فقد سُجّلت ارتفاعات في غالبية البنود، تصدّرتها الخضراوات بـنسبة 25 بالمئة، تليها الفواكه بـنسبة 11.6 بالمئة، ثم الأسماك والأغذية البحرية بنسبة بلغت 6.1 بالمئة.كما ارتفعت أسعار واللحوم بنسبة 3.7 بالمئة، والمشروبات غير الكحولية بنسبة 3.4 بالمئة، بينما ارتفعت أسعار السكر والمربى والعسل والحلويات بنسبة 3 بالمئة، والحليب والجبن والبيض بنسبة 2.5 بالمئة، والخبز والحبوب بنسبة 1.6 بالمئة، وكذلك المنتجات الغذائية غير المصنّفة تحت بند آخر بنسبة 1.6 بالمئة، في حين سجّلت الزيوت والدهون زيادة طفيفة بلغت 0.9 بالمئة.وأظهرت البيانات تفاوتًا في نسب التضخم بين محافظات سلطنة عُمان بنهاية أبريل 2026م مقارنةً بالفترة المماثلة من العام السابق، حيث تصدّرت محافظة الظاهرة القائمة بأعلى نسبة ارتفاع بلغت 4.4 بالمئة، تلتها محافظتي الداخلية ومسقط بنسبة 3.7 بالمئة، ثم محافظة البريمي بنسبة 3.5 بالمئة.وسجّلت محافظة الوسطى ارتفاعًا بنسبة 3 بالمئة، ومحافظة مسندم بنسبة 2.9 بالمئة، فيما بلغت نسبة الارتفاع في محافظة جنوب الباطنة بنسبة 2.6 بالمئة، ومحافظتي شمال وجنوب الشرقية 2.5 بالمئة، في حين حققت محافظتي شمال الباطنة وظفار ارتفاعًا بنسبة 1.9 بالمئة.

Oman’s annual inflation rate eased slightly to 3.2% in April, down from 3.6% in March, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.Despite the marginal decline from the previous month, inflation in Oman remained relatively high, driven mainly by rising prices across several key expenditure groups, particularly miscellaneous goods and services, transport, fresh food items, and restaurants and hotels.CPI data showed that the miscellaneous goods and services group recorded the highest year-on-year increase in April, rising by 9.2%. This was followed by food and transport, where prices increased by 6.2% and 6.0%, respectively, making them the main contributors to overall inflation.The higher inflation levels recorded during March and April coincided with heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly the US-Israel conflict with Iran, which began on February 28. The conflict significantly affected global oil prices, shipping costs and supply chains. For Gulf countries, including Oman, this resulted in higher import and transport costs, especially for food and consumer goods.Global institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have warned that the Iran conflict is adding to global inflationary pressures. Food inflation surges to 6.2%The food and non-alcoholic beverages group, which carries the largest weight in the sultanate’s CPI, recorded a notable 6.2% increase in April compared with the same month in 2025. Prices in this group had risen by 4.3% year-on-year in March.Within the food category, price movements were mixed. Vegetable prices recorded the sharpest year-on-year increase at 25%, followed by fruits at 11.6%. Prices of fish rose by 6.1%, non-alcoholic beverages by 3.4%, sugar, jam, honey and confectionery by 3.0%, meat by 3.7%, milk, cheese and eggs by 2.5%, bread and cereals by 1.6%, and oils and fats by 0.9%.Other expenditure groups also recorded increases. Prices in the restaurant and hotels group rose by 4.5%, while furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance increased by 3.0% compared with the same month last year. Education costs rose by 2.2%, while health expenses increased by 1.8%.Meanwhile, prices in the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group remained unchanged year-on-year, as did prices in the communication and tobacco groups.At the governorate level, Dhahirah recorded the highest annual inflation rate in April at 4.4%, followed by Muscat and Dakhiliyah at 3.7% each. Inflation in Dhofar and North Batinah was lower at 1.9% each.The data also showed that the average inflation rate in the sultanate during the first four months of 2026 stood at 2.6%. The miscellaneous goods and services group recorded an average increase of 12.4% during the January-April period, indicating continued upward pressure in that category.
