The total number of vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman reached 1,776,642 by the end of March 2025, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Vehicles with private registration constituted 79.2% of the total vehicles registered in Oman to stand at 1,407,472, while the number of vehicles with commercial registration reached 261,527.
Meanwhile, taxi vehicles reached 28,307. The number of rental vehicles reached 40,678. The number of government vehicles stood at 11,849 and motorbikes stood at 7,919.
The number of driving school vehicles stood at 5,130, and the number of vehicles with temporary registration (temporary inspection, export and import) stood at 11,581.
Moreover, the number of tractors stood at 1,248 and vehicles with diplomatic entity registrations stood at 931.
Among colors, white was the most preferred color for vehicles in Sultanate of Oman with 753,308. Silver was the second choice with 229,081, while gray came as the third most prominent vehicle color with about 176,568 vehicles.
The number of registered vehicles in terms of engine capacity between 1,500 and 3,000 ccs reached 967,513 vehicles, while the number of vehicles of engine capacity between 3,001 and 4500 ccs reached 396,034, and those with an engine capacity of less than 1,500 ccs reached 143,640. The number of vehicles without an engine (vehicle designed and manufactured to be towed or towed by another vehicle) reached 48,504 vehicles.
As for vehicles registered per weight, the number of vehicles weighing less than 3 tons stood at 1,612,032, over 10 tons stood at 74,525, between 3-7 tons stood at 51,153 and between 7-10 tons stood at 38,932.
