Under the slogan of "The Automation of Statistical work ", the National Centre for Statistics and Information "NCSI" participates in Salalah Tourism Festival 2019 through its permanent pavilion within the municipal entertainment square at the Governorate of Salalah.
The participation of NCSI aims to introduce its prominent projects and its smart applications to the visitors of Salalah Tourism Festival 2019.These projects include all the schemes of NCSI which are being reliable in supporting the five-year plans and the Oman 2040vision, such as the Electronic Census of population, housing and enterprises 2020,the Unified Addressing System ,which considered as one of the strategic objectives of developing an integrated infrastructure that enables data acquisition in order to achieve integration and coordination between different parties..
The NCSI pavilion also highlights the National Geographic Information Architecture (GIS), which is a government initiative designed to provide a framework for geospatial standards, policies, institutional arrangements along with the required technical infrastructure for coordinating , facilitating , supporting, exchanging and using geospatial information across many government organizations in the Sultanate.
The National Centre for statistic and information also shows its services to the audience of the festival through its website, where the NCSI portal includes Data Portal, Sustainable Development Goals portal, which concerned with the continuous monitoring of the indicators of achieving and implementing the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan ,that adopted by the global leaders in 2015.
As a part of the commitments of NCSI towards the audience of Salalah festival through acknowledging them by the festival indexes , it has provided interactive screens which shows these indexes along with an explanative statics ,such as the visitors 'nationalities and the objectives of their visiting to the festival .
The interactive screens at the pavilion also show a number of smart phone applications (IOS) which are being provided by NCSI for free of charge through the Android and apple systems, while "MAZEED application" is considered as a unified portal that includes all the smart phone applications which are being provided by NCSI, in order to facilitate the utilization of all its accessible services.
MAZEED also includes the statistical indexes application, that contains of 24 economic and social indexes of the Sultanate, which are being updated monthly, it also includes a digital map and a graph that shows the change level of each index. The user of MAZEED can share the index details via the electronic emails and the social media sites .
MAZEED also allows easy and swift access to all services provided by the NCSI through other applications, while it includes " BANKI", which provides the users by information about the nearest branches of banks and exchange offices ,while this application gives the user tools to search for banks ,its locations in the geographical scope, its services such as money transfer, loans, and the locations of ATM and deposit machines as well.
MAZEED also includes " Waqudi", which is rich of information about the nearest fuel stations, car service centres . It also provides access to NCSI Geo application, which has spatial statistical information, with a set of functions and tools designed to help link the statistical data with geo-spatial information.
The pavilion of NCSI also highlights the Tour Oman application, which provides 31 types of government, private services, tourist places and monuments in all governorates of the Sultanate. It also easies accessing to the places of services using data navigation methods, and provides many functions and smart tools to facilitate the use and improve response speed Such as search and data browsing tools or maps.
The same pavilion displays a number of monthly and annual issues of publications, where the visitors can review and be aware of its contents and services during the festival period which will end on 22 August 2019.
