The (NCSI) has begun preparations to collect data about the visitors to Salalah during Khareef this year. As part of this, the Centre has launched a series of training sessions for data collectors .
The workshops include presentations and lectures that defined the concept and objectives of tourism and the basics of data collection field work and methodology related to enumerating the number of visitors to Salalah.
It is worth mentioning that every year the Centre prepares a detailed statistical database on the visitors to Salalah, covering aspects such as nationality and place of residence, and other tourism indicators.
The information helps authorities to determine the popularity of the Khareef festival and the tourism potential of the Dhofar province, allowing stakeholders to effectively plan for enhancing and developing public facilities for the next season.
The training aims at equipping the field workers with the necessary skills to carry out data collection operations without delay or causing inconvenience to the visitors.
