Explore Trends in Youth Work : Fifth Session

Employment of the national workforce is one of the importance issues in the Sultanate, where efforts are being made in order to provide suitable job opportunities in various sectors of work to accommodate job seekers from various educational levels. Young people are the focal point of employment policies and programs and the cornerstone of achieving sustainable growth and maintain the development gains achieved in the Sultanate, thus access to a deeper understanding of their attitudes towards labor market is a priority to ensure the success of these policies and programs and achieve the desired results.

Hence, the National Center for Statistics and Information has implemented the Fifth session of the study of Omani youth attitudes toward the labor market during the month of May 2019 in order to identify the youth trends and their job preferences and changes that have occurred in these trends since the first session of the study, which was carried out in June 2013.

To ensure access to the results that representing different segments of young people, the study aimed at three main categories of young people, they are: students who are studying in the higher education within the Sultanate in both diploma or undergraduate programs, and young job seekers and registered in the Public Authority of Manpower Register, and young people Employees in various work sectors.

Random samples that representing these three categories were obtained and explore their views either through telephonic conversation made by trained and qualified cadres, or via e-mail and electronic form that have been fulfilled by the respondent.
