The total production of the Sultanate in the electricity and water sector recorded a significant increase at the end of April 2015 compared to the production recorded during the same period of 2014. The total Omani production of electricity increased to more than 8.5 thousand GW logging a 17% increase at the end of March compared to the production recorded during the same period 2014. The same applies to the water sector that recorded a significant increase at the end of April to reach more production increased to more than 107 million cubic meters with an increase of 10.6% compared to the production recorded during the same period of 2014. The latest statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the total Omani production of electricity till the end of April 2015 reached 8471.1 GW per hour compared to the production recorded during the same period of 2014; which reached 7239.9 GW per hour with an increase rate of 17%. The net Omani electricity production till the end of April 2015 reached 9097.2 GW per hour; compared to the figures recorded during the same period of 2014; which reached 6872.3 GW per hour with an increase rate of 17.8%. This production includes the procurements of Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) and the procurements of the Rural Areas Electricity Company. On the other hand, the Sultanate's production of water till April 2015 reached 106 million, 617 thousand and 900 cubic meters (106,617,900 cm) with an increase of 10.6% compared to the water production recorded during the same period of 2014; which reached 96 million, 421 thousand and 700 cubic meters (96,421,700 cm).
